In some parts of the world, people chew plain or sugar-coated anise seeds after a meal. Chewing fennel seeds is thought to help prevent digestion and gas.

Fennel seeds contain a lot of fiber in their small forms. One tablespoon (6 grams) of dried fennel seeds gives you 2 grams of fiber. By comparison, an apple contains 3-4 grams of fiber.
